A Nice Breakfast Dish

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Mince the cold beef or lamb. If using beef, add a pinch of pulverized cloves; if using lamb, add a pinch of summer savoury. Season with a little pepper and coarse sea salt.

  2. Place the minced meat in a baking dish.

  3. Mash the potatoes and mix them with cream, butter, and a little salt. Spread the mixture over the meat.

  4. Beat an egg with a little cream or milk and spread it over the potatoes.

  5. Bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven for a short time until warmed through and the potatoes are browned.
