Fish Pasty

Oven, in the book's wordsA hot oven

Ingredients

Directions

The book says “a hot oven”. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps is the modern equivalent, not the book's own figure.

  1. Remove skin and bones from the fish and flake it.

  2. Add the flaked fish to the sauce and season with pepper and salt.

  3. Grease a pie dish and place the fish mixture inside.

  4. Mash the potatoes smoothly and spread them on top of the fish.

  5. Decorate the top nicely and brush with egg or milk.

  6. Bake in a hot oven at 400°F (200°C) until golden brown.
