Jam Puffs

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Roll out the pastry to about ¼ inch thick.

  3. Cut the pastry into circles.

  4. Place a small amount of jam on half of each circle.

  5. Fold the other half over and moisten the edges with egg white.

  6. Press the edges together to seal, or fold one edge over like a hem for extra security.

  7. Place on a baking tin with raised edges to catch any escaping jam.

  8. Bake in the hot oven until golden brown.
