Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Brussels sprouts
Form the main body and flavour of the soup once pureed.
Stock
Thins the puree and carries the savoury base of the soup.
Cream
Adds richness and a smooth, silky mouthfeel to the finished soup.

The step that matters

Keep the soup hot after adding the cream, without boiling. Boiling a soup after cream is added can cause the dairy to separate and turn grainy, spoiling the smooth texture.
