Bread and Butter Pudding

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Spread butter on the slices of bread.

  2. Layer the bread in a dish, adding currants and optional sliced citron, orange, or lemon between layers.

  3. In a bowl, mix milk, eggs, pimentos, and a little ratafia to create an unboiled custard.

  4. Pour the custard over the layered bread and let it soak for at least 2 hours before baking.

  5. Optionally, use a paste around the edge of the dish for a better appearance.
