Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Chicken white meat
Provides the protein base that is pounded into a smooth paste and thickened.
Nutmeg
Adds warm aromatic flavor to the chicken paste.
Lemon peel
Adds bright citrus aroma to the seasoned paste.

The step that matters

Boil gently to the right consistency. Boiling too hard or too long can toughen the proteins and make the mixture stiff or grainy, while stopping too early leaves it thin. Gentle heat lets the proteins set slowly into a smooth, thick, drinkable texture.

Swap the nutmeg

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (chicken, meat, lemon):

  1. Thymefits better
  2. Rosemaryfits better
  3. Marjoramfits better
  4. Nutmegthe original

Fit is the average pairing score against chicken, meat, lemon. Candidates are from the same food group and used in at least 100 recipes.
