Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs
What each ingredient does
- Raspberries
- Provide the main flavour and colour, with their juice infused into the vinegar.
- White wine vinegar
- Extracts the raspberry flavour and adds the sharp acidity that defines the finished vinegar.
- Lump sugar
- Sweetens the vinegar and balances its acidity.
The step that matters
Let the sugar dissolve in a gentle bath. Simmering the jar in water heats the syrup gently, so the sugar dissolves without scorching. Boiling it hard could darken or spoil the delicate raspberry flavour.
