Simmer

  4. Check if the vegetables are tender with a fork.

Serve

  1. Arrange the cutlets in a circle on a hot dish, pour the sauce around, and place the vegetables in the center.

Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Mutton
Slow simmering in water turns the tough meat tender and produces a flavorful broth.
Potatoes
Their starch thickens the broth slightly and they soften into a hearty, filling body.
Onions
They soften during simmering and add sweetness and savory depth to the stew.

The step that matters

Skimming the surface. Skimming removes foam and excess fat that rise as the liquid heats, keeping the broth clear and clean-tasting rather than greasy or cloudy.
