Modelling Flowers in Fine Gum Paste
Ingredients
Directions
Divide the gum paste into colors: white, red, blue, and yellow.
Make green, violet, dark, and pale orange from these colors.
For a rose, use green paste for the calyx and yellow paste for the heart, attaching it with wire.
Cut red paste into leaves with a tin cutter, then roll them thin with a modeling tool.
Attach the leaves around the heart, then push the calyx into the mold to finish.
For small animals, use double molds for front and back, inserting fine wire in the legs for support.
Dry the fronts straight on smooth plates, then gently push the backs the next day and attach them with liquid paste.
