Bride Cake
Ingredients
Directions
Make gum paste according to the directions provided.
Dust moulds with starch powder using a cloth.
Roll out the paste on a marble slab and press it into the moulds.
Cut off excess paste with a smooth sharp knife.
Remove borders for the bottom of the cake and place them on a board.
If borders stick, add a bit of gum paste to help release them.
Use a camel-hair pencil dipped in thin gum water to attach borders to the cake.
Repeat with different patterns for the top and sides of the cake.
