Apple Jelly, No. 1

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Wash the apples, remove any defects, and slice them into small pieces, keeping the core and skin.

  2. Place the sliced apples in a granite or porcelain kettle and add just enough water to cover them.

  3. Stew the apples slowly until they are soft.

  4. Press the mixture gently through a flannel jelly bag.

  5. Boil the extracted juice until it reduces by half.
