Tartlets of Green Gooseberries

Oven, in the book's wordsA hot oven

Ingredients

Directions

The book says “a hot oven”. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps is the modern equivalent, not the book's own figure.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Spread the tartlet-moulds with sweetened tartlet-paste.

  3. Bake the moulds without filling until golden.

  4. Let the baked paste cool.

  5. Spread a thin layer of marmalade inside each tartlet.

  6. Plunge a few handfuls of green gooseberries into the tartlets.
