Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Roll out the puff-paste thinly.

  2. Place half of it on a baking sheet and spread your preferred jam evenly over it.

  3. Cover with another thin layer of puff-paste, pressing the edges together.

  4. Mark the surface with a knife to indicate where to cut after baking.

  5. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes to 1 hour.

  6. A few minutes before done, brush the pastry with egg white and sprinkle with sifted sugar.

  7. Return to the oven to color.

  8. Once cooled, cut into 2-inch strips and arrange them in a pyramid on a dish.

  9. Serve with flavored whipped cream poured in the center.
