Mushroom Cakes

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Line shallow patty pans with pastry and place a small piece of buttered paper in each.

  3. Fill the pans with uncooked rice and bake until pale brown.

  4. Bake small pieces of pastry shaped like mushroom stalks.

  5. Remove the rice and return the pastry to the oven to dry.

  6. Once cooled, add a small teaspoon of raspberry jam to each pastry.

  7. Fill with sweetened and flavored whipped cream.

  8. Dust with grated chocolate and insert a pastry stalk.
