Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Chickens
Provide the cooked meat that is pounded into the body of the soup.
Egg yolks
Enrich the soup and help bind the pounded meat into a smooth mixture.
French rolls
Soaked crumb adds body and helps thicken the soup.
Cream
Adds richness and a silky, smooth mouthfeel to the soup.
Broth
Forms the liquid base that carries the flavour and keeps the soup fluid.

The step that matters

Strain the mixture through a fine sieve. Straining removes fibres, bits of skin and lumps left after pounding, so the soup becomes smooth and fine-textured rather than grainy.

Swap the parsley

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (chicken, egg, cream):

  1. Nutmegfits better
  2. Tarragonfits better

  4. Parsleythe original
