Waldorf Sandwiches

Ingredients

Directions

Prepare the bread

  1. Slice white and brown bread into thin slices. Spread creamed butter on each slice.

  2. Layer five slices together with white bread on the outside. Press firmly and cut into strips crosswise.

Make the rye sandwich

  1. For the rye sandwich, cut the bottom crust off the rye bread. Layer a thin slice of Spanish onion, a thin slice of brick cheese, a split hot wiener, and a slice of dill pickle between the rye slices.

Serve

  1. Serve with hot coffee and sugared fried cakes.
