Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Cold roast lamb
Provides the main meat, which is chopped and cooked again in the gravy.
Flour
Coats the meat so it thickens the stock into a gravy.
Butter
Fat that enriches the frying pan and the buttered toast.
Hot water or stock
Moistens the meat and, with more stock, forms the thin gravy.
