Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 300°F (150°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

Prepare the mixture

  1. Finely hash the round steak with the fresh bread and salt.

  2. Beat the eggs and mix them well with the meat mixture.

  3. Add the melted butter and shape the mixture into a loaf.

Bake and serve

  1. Place a little water in the bottom of a baking dish.

  2. Bake the loaf in a 300°F (150°C) oven for one hour.

  3. Slice and serve cold for supper.
