Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Rice
Swells and softens as it cooks, thickening the liquid and giving the drink its body.
Milk
Forms the main liquid, adding creaminess and richness to the finished drink.
Egg
Adds richness and helps thicken the mixture slightly when stirred in.
Sugar
Adds sweetness to balance the milk and rice.

The step that matters

Combining the egg with the hot rice and milk. Beaten egg poured into very hot liquid can set into small lumps or scramble. Stirring well while combining keeps the egg dispersed and the drink smooth.
