Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Grapefruit
Adds tart, acidic flavor and juicy texture to the fruit mix.
Oranges
Contributes sweetness, juice and aroma that moisten the mixed fruit.
Pineapple
Adds juicy body and a bright, slightly acidic sweetness.
White grapes
Provides sweet juice and firm bites that give the mixture texture.

The step that matters

Scoop out pulp without breaking sections. Citrus sections hold juice in thin membranes. Tearing them early releases juice and bitter pith, leaving the mixture watery and less clean in flavor.

Swap the grape

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (grapefruit, pineapple, orange, sugar):

  1. Vanillafits better
  2. Mangofits better
  3. Limefits better
  4. Grapethe original
