Baspherry Dumplings

Oven, in the book's wordsA moderate oven

Ingredients

Directions

The book says “a moderate oven”. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps is the modern equivalent, not the book's own figure.

  1. Make a stiff Quaker Paste.

  2. Pinch off a piece and roll it into a circle about 3 inches in diameter and ¼ inch thick.

  3. Place berries in the center, wet the edges, and press together in a turnover shape.

  4. Bake in a moderate oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 40 minutes.
