Hot Cross Buns

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. In a bowl, combine the plain bun mixture with cinnamon and mixed fruit if desired.

  2. Roll the dough to ¾ inch thick and cut with a 3-inch cutter.

  3. Make cuts at right angles on top of each bun.

  4. Let the buns rise until doubled in size.

  5. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) until golden brown.

  6. Glaze the buns during baking.
