Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Sugar
Sweetens the dish and keeps the frozen texture softer by lowering the freezing point.
Whipped cream
Adds fat and air, giving a light, creamy texture.
Pineapple
Provides the main fruit flavor and bright acidity.

The step that matters

Freeze until mushy, then remove the dasher. Stopping at a mushy stage keeps ice crystals small and the texture smooth. Freezing fully makes it hard and icy, and the dasher must be removed before the cream is folded in.

Swap the pineapple

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (sugar, cream):

  1. Vanillafits better

Fit is the average pairing score against sugar, cream. Candidates are from the same food group and used in at least 100 recipes.
