  1. Dissolve the yeast cake in warm milk.

  2. Mix the rye meal, brown sugar, cornmeal, and coarse sea salt in a bowl.

  3. Combine the dry ingredients with the warm milk to form a soft batter.

  4. Cover the bowl and let it sit overnight.

  5. In the morning, butter a pan and pour the batter into it.

  6. Cover the loaf and let it rise again.

  7. Bake the loaf, covered, to prevent the crust from hardening.
