A Timball of Maccaroni and Chicken

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Boil the maccaroni in broth until tender.

  2. Mix in beshemell sauce, grated cheese, and cut-up chicken.

  3. Heat the mixture and let it cool.

  4. Butter the mold and add bread crumbs or vermicelli, shaking out excess.

  5. Line the mold with puff-paste that has a little flour worked in.

  6. Once the maccaroni and chicken mixture is cold, fill the mold and cover it.

  7. Bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven for one hour.

  8. Turn out the timball when done.
