Eaised Doughnuts

Ingredients

• 6 potatoes
• 1 pint milk
• 1 small cup butter
• 1 cake Fleischmann & Co.'s yeast
• flour (to make a stiff batter)
• 2 large cups sugar
• 3 eggs
• 1 tablespoon salt
• 1 nutmeg (grated)
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

1. Boil and mash the potatoes.

2. Add milk and strain the mixture.

3. Mix in butter and yeast to create a sponge.

4. Add flour to make a stiff batter and let it rise until light.

5. Incorporate sugar, eggs, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon.

6. Add more flour to achieve a stiff consistency like biscuit dough.

7. Let the dough rise until very light.

8. Pour the dough onto a board without kneading and flatten it out with your hands.

9. Cut the dough into squares and let them rise until very light.
