Good Pie Crust
Ingredients
Directions
In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt.
Work the lard into the flour using your fingertips until well combined.
Add a little cold water and press the dough together firmly.
Turn the dough out onto a well-floured surface and roll it out in one direction only.
For fruit pies, dust a little flour on the bottom before adding the fruit.
For fresh fruit pies, sprinkle sugar on the bottom.
To prevent juice from soaking through, rub a well-beaten egg on the lower crust.
