Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Gelatine
Sets the liquid mixture into a firm, sliceable structure as it cools.
Egg yolks
Enrich the base and add richness and body to the mixture.
Whipped cream
Adds airy lightness and a creamy, moist texture.
Egg whites
Whipped foam lightens the mixture and adds volume.
Grated pineapple
Adds fruit flavour, sweetness and moisture to the set dessert.

The step that matters

Heat the soaked gelatine briefly to dissolve it. Gelatine only sets when fully dissolved. Overheating or boiling can weaken its setting power, while undissolved granules leave gritty or uneven patches in the finished dessert.
