Baked Roly-poly
Ingredients
Directions
The book says “a quick oven”. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps is the modern equivalent, not the book's own figure.
Prepare a rich biscuit dough.
Roll it out to about ½ inch thick.
Spread the dough thickly with jam or stewed fruit.
Roll the dough into a scroll shape.
Place it in a long tin loaf pan with the seam side up.
Bake in a moderate oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 30 minutes.
Transcribed from a scanned cookbook and modernised for today's kitchens. Where the book gave no heat or time, or said "a moderate oven", the temperatures and times here may be modern equivalents rather than the book's own figures.
