Canning Fruit
Ingredients
Directions
Select perfectly ripe and sound fruit.
Fill the tin cans completely with fruit and solder them securely.
Pierce a small pin-hole in the top of each can to allow air to escape.
Place the cans in a boiler deep enough to cover them with boiling water, leaving ½ inch from the top.
Keep the water hot over moderate heat until air ceases to escape from the cans.
Seal the air holes with solder before removing the cans from the water.
Wipe the cans dry and allow them to cool.
