Ingredients

Directions

The book says “a warm oven”. The 400°F (200°C) in the steps is the modern equivalent, not the book's own figure.

  1. Roll the puff pastry very thin and cut it into narrow bands.

  2. Twist each band into a cord and coil it around the insides of small buttered molds.

  3. Fill each mold with cooked macaroni.

  4. Cover the top with equal quantities of grated bread and grated cheese.

  5. Bake in a warm oven at 400°F (200°C) for 45 minutes.

  6. Turn them out onto a dish and serve.
