Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

Prepare the stew

  1. Mince the cooked meat very fine.

  2. In a stew-pan, combine the minced meat, parsley, green onions, mushrooms, beaten eggs, and gravy or stock.

  3. Simmer for 15 minutes.

Layer and bake

  1. In a meat dish, layer the stew, then a layer of sliced bread, and repeat until all ingredients are used.

  2. Heat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until hot.

  3. Serve the hot stew over the layered bread.
