Stuffed Tomatoes

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Cut a thin slice from the blossom end of each tomato.

  2. Scoop out the inside of the tomatoes.

  3. Mix the scooped tomato insides with green corn, grated bread, coarse sea salt, black pepper, butter, and sugar.

  4. Stuff the empty tomatoes with the mixture.

  5. Replace the tops of the tomatoes.

  6. Bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 45 minutes.
