Ingredients

Directions

  1. In a jar, combine vinegar, ginger, pepper, cloves, spice, mace, black mustard, white mustard, horseradish, and brown sugar.

  2. Cover the jar with cloth or leather and place it in the sun, shaking it daily.

  3. After a few days, add turmeric and small onions.

  4. Scald cabbage in salt water, then lay it on a cloth in the sun to bleach.

  5. Sprinkle the cabbage with salt and turn it frequently until dry and bleached, which will take 3 to 4 days.

  6. Wash and dry the cabbage, then place it in the prepared vinegar.
