Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Sugar
Sweetens the dessert and lowers the freezing point so it stays soft and scoopable.
Shredded pineapple and juice
Provides the main fruit flavor, acidity, and moisture for the mixture.
Whipped cream
Adds fat and trapped air for a light, creamy texture.

The step that matters

Freezing to a mushy consistency. Sugar keeps the mixture from freezing solid, so stopping at a soft, mushy stage gives a smooth texture. Freezing too long makes it icy and hard.

Swap the pineapple

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (sugar, cream):

  1. Vanillafits better
  2. Strawberryfits better
  3. Raspberryfits better
