Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Heavy cream
Whipped into stiff foam that gives the pudding its light, airy body.
Macaroons
Add texture and sweetness as they soften into the cream.
Jam
Adds sweetness and fruity acidity to one of the three cream portions.
Chocolate
Adds richness and flavor to one of the three cream portions.

The step that matters

Whip the cream until stiff. Under-whipped cream stays loose and won't hold its shape or set firm in the mold. Over-whipping can turn it grainy and buttery, so stop once it holds stiff peaks.
