Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Agar-agar jelly
Sets the milk mixture into a firm, sliceable jelly when chilled.
Milk
Provides the creamy body and mild dairy flavour of the dessert.
Sugar
Sweetens the cream and balances the flavour of the vanilla and milk.

The step that matters

Dissolve the Agar-Agar fully before adding milk. Agar only sets when fully dissolved in hot liquid; if it is not clear and completely dissolved, undissolved strands will leave specks or a weak, uneven set.
