Orange Layer Cake

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a bowl, mix sweet milk, eggs, sugar, and butter until well combined.

  3. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar.

  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until smooth.

  5. For the filling, boil grated orange, small cup of sugar, butter, and beaten egg until thickened.

  6. Layer the filling between the cake layers once cooled.
