Veal Cake with Eggs

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

Assemble

  1. Cut the hard-boiled eggs in half and place some yolk pieces in the bottom of a small baking dish.

  2. Layer with cold chopped veal or ham, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper.

  3. Repeat layers of eggs and meat until the dish is almost full.

  4. Top with oil or butter.

  5. Add enough water to cover the meat.

Bake and serve

  1. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour.

  2. Press down with a large spoon.

  3. Serve when cold.
