What each ingredient does
- Loose green tea
- Provides the flavor and aroma of the brew once steeped in hot water.
The step that matters
Pouring boiling water over the tea. Green tea leaves are delicate, and water that is too hot can extract bitter compounds and make the brew taste harsh. Letting the water cool slightly before steeping, as this method does, helps keep the flavor smooth.
