Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a large bowl, mix the flour, unbeaten egg, sugar, butter, sweet milk, and baking powder to form a soft dough.

  3. Divide the dough into three portions and place them in jelly pans.

  4. Score the tops of the dough deeply.

  5. Pour the melted butter over the scored dough.

  6. In a separate bowl, mix the sugar and ground cinnamon, then sprinkle it over the dough.

  7. Bake until golden brown.
