Scalloped Tomatoes

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Remove the skins from the tomatoes by pouring boiling water over them.

  2. Slice the tomatoes into ½ inch thick slices.

  3. In a baking pan, layer the tomato slices with bread crumbs, salt, pepper, butter, sugar, and minced onion.

  4. Continue layering until the pan is filled, finishing with bread crumbs and seasoning on top.

  5. Bake in a 350°F (175°C) oven until heated through.
