Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Mutton
Provides the main meat, which becomes tender and juicy as it roasts slowly.
Tomatoes
Soften as they roast, adding moisture and a tangy, sweet flavour to the dish.
Bread crumbs
Absorb butter and tomato juices in the stuffing, giving it a soft, moist body.
Butter
Adds richness and fat to the stuffing, helping it brown and carry flavour.

Swap the tomato
