Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Mix the baking powder with the flour.

  3. Cream the butter until smooth.

  4. Beat the egg whites and yolks separately.

  5. Stir the sugar into the egg whites until well combined.

  6. Combine the butter, egg yolks, and flour mixture.

  7. Fold in the beaten egg whites gently.

  8. Beat the entire mixture for 15 minutes.

  9. Pour into a greased cake pan and bake for 1 to 1.5 hours.
