Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Vanilla chocolate
Provides the main flavor and, once chilled, the firm chocolate layer of the pudding.
Milk
Melts the chocolate into a smooth, pourable base that sets as it cools.
Cream
Whipped to stiff peaks, it adds lightness and a creamy, airy texture to the frozen dessert.
Powdered sugar
Dissolves easily into the warm chocolate, sweetening it evenly without grittiness.

The step that matters

Folding the cold chocolate with the whipped cream. The chocolate must be fully cold before the whipped cream is added. Warm chocolate would deflate the cream's air bubbles and leave the frozen texture dense and heavy.
