Corned Beef and Cabbage

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Soak the salt beef in fresh water overnight to reduce saltiness.

  2. Renew the water with clean, cold water and place the beef over medium heat.

  3. Boil for 3.5 hours, skimming every 15 minutes to remove salt and blood.

  4. After 2 hours, add enough cabbage to fill the pot, removing some water if necessary.

  5. Boil gently for an additional 1.5 hours after adding the cabbage.
