Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Apples
Cooked down to a soft pulp that forms the body of the pudding.
Sugar
Sweetens the pudding and softens the texture of the frozen mixture.
Whipped cream
Adds air and fat, making the frozen pudding lighter and creamier.
Apricot jam
Adds fruit sweetness and flavour to the apple base.
Raisins
Add chewy texture and concentrated sweetness to the pudding.

The step that matters

Freeze again after folding in the whipped cream. Whipped cream adds air that can collapse or weep if the mixture softens, so refreezing firms it back into a smooth, sliceable texture.

Swap the raisin
