Ingredients

Directions

  1. Remove the outer leaves from the cabbage and soak it in water with 1 teaspoon of baking soda until effervescent.

  2. Drain the cabbage and pour 2 quarts of boiling water over it.

  3. Press out the water and serve the cabbage with halved carrots around the corned beef.

  4. For the banana puree, pass 2 bananas through a ricer, add 2 teaspoons of sugar and ¼ cup of water.

  5. Simmer the mixture until thick, then pour over the bananas in cups. Serve with or without whipped cream.
