Roast Mutton for Children

Ingredients

Directions

The book gives no oven temperature. The 350°F (175°C) in the steps was added when the recipe was transcribed, as a starting point.

Roast

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Roast the mutton for about 1 hour until well-cooked.

  3. Dredge the mutton with salt 10 minutes before it is done.

Serve

  1. Once cooked, place the mutton on a dish.

  2. Sprinkle a little coarse sea salt over the meat.

  3. Pour 3–4 tablespoons of hot water over the meat to create a light gravy.
