Ranks compare each pair with 20,000 random ingredient pairs on CompKitchen. How we score pairs

What each ingredient does

Truffles
Provide the dominant earthy aroma that defines the dish.
Butter
Adds richness and carries the truffle aroma while cooking the omelette gently.
Eggs
Set when heated to form the body and structure of the omelette.

The step that matters

Cook the omelette until set. Eggs turn from liquid to firm through protein coagulation; cooking over medium heat until just set keeps the omelette tender, while overcooking makes it dry and rubbery.

Swap the clove

How well each one fits the dish's main ingredients (truffle, butter, pepper, garlic, egg, parsley):

  1. Thymefits better
  2. Tarragonfits better
  3. Marjoramfits better
  4. Clovethe original

Fit is the average pairing score against truffle, butter, pepper, garlic, egg, parsley. Candidates are from the same food group and used in at least 100 recipes.
